Director shadowing offers a route in — real access to the set, a chance to demystify the craft, and the professional networks that turn potential into a career. Through We Are Parable's Sony-supported Momentum programme, writer-director Dean Leon Anderson shadowed John Hayes on the BBC drama This City Is Ours, produced by Simon Maloney. Here, the three reunite to explore how shadowing opens doors for emerging Black British directors and builds a stronger, more diverse directing pipeline. For Anderson — a S.O.U.L.
